Twin Lakes Restaurant
is proud to have as our executive chef, Jonathan Yuricek. He has worked
in the food industry his entire life. Jonathan began his career in the
industry as a 16 year old in a New York deli. He learned all aspects
of operations from being a butcher to learning all food preparations.
He also learned the importance of the business side of the deli, he was
given accounting duties early on and became assistant manager by the
time he was 17 years old.
The deli stop was just the beginning of a remarkable career for Jonathan.
In 1992, at age 18, he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America
on the dean’s list.
He then continued his quest for culinary excellence by working at Pierce's
1894 Restaurant (a 4 Diamond/Ivy Award winner) in Elmira Heights, NY as
a chef's apprentice.
By 1995, Jonathan decided to expand his expertise by studying abroad. He
attended Schiller International University in Engelberg, Switzerland. While
at Schiller he focused his studies on Hospitality and Tourism Management.
While abroad he expanded his culinary palette by touring many hotels and
restaurants throughout western European.
When returning to the states Jonathan fell in love with the Carolinas while
working as Food Services Director at Sea Trail, and as the Executive Chef
at the Litchfield Country Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
In 1998, Jonathan moved to Atlanta to work for Cooper Hotel Group as the
Executive Chef for their flagship hotel and training facility. It was the
#1 Holiday Inn Select in North America.
In 2001, the call of the Carolinas was too strong for Jonathan and his
family and they moved back to the beach! Just as he was leaving a small
restaurant in Myrtle Beach, he got a call from Ronnie Holden at Twin Lakes
Restaurant.. and the rest is history! Now you can enjoy the exquisite menu
our talented chef has compiled .. we know you’ll enjoy every delicious
bite!
Jonathan and his wife Danette reside in Brunswick County with their two
beautiful little boys, Isaiah and Abel.
